Congratulations! We ripped through the neurons of the first optic column.

Up next: a batch of 8 columns containing a maximum of 812 neurons. Why maximum? Each column includes all the synaptic partners of a single medulla neuron. Some of those connections may come from cells we’ve already proofread or from branches of cells that were accidentally split by the AI. As we proof the cells, these overlaps and mishaps will be identified and the total cell count number will likely drop.

As of midday on May 16th, we have completed 294 of these cells, leaving 518 remaining neurons that need that extra edge of human insight. Please see this thread in the forum for the latest cell completion stats.
